The Wings
They are made by taking one continuous thread and stitching it over 44,000 times onto vintage brown rip-stop nylon. The wings alone on this sweater take nearly an hour to stitch out per pair.
The vintage green of the thread, perfectly contrasts the brown of rip-stop nylon and matches the sweater.
The Sweater
The sweater Itself is made from American Airlume Cotton and Polyester. That means the cotton is combed, then combed again...then combed one more time to make it feel soft and luxurious like a chair in an Air Force restaurant.
The fabric is made, then cut into pieces here in the U.S. Its then shipped to Nicaragua. From there it is sewn into the sweater and shipped back to the U.S. That's where I buy it and begin the decorating process.
The Design
Ever heard of a Raglan?
Raglan is the sleeve design. You see, raglan sleeves connect directly to the collar, instead of the shoulder.
Raglan sleeves were developed for British Field Marshal Fitzroy Somerset, AKA Lord Raglan, after he lost an arm to a sniper while beating back Napolean at Waterloo.
Why's that important...because it makes the look and style of this sweater more bad-ass then it was before, and it's true.
The Maker
Each sweater is personally made by me, former Army Dustoff Medic. I always made sure that paratroopers got the best care while be medevac'd to the hospital.
I handcut and prepare each pair of wings that are appliqued onto your sweater.
I spend just over 60 minutes making each one of your sweaters before it is shipped.
